The story behind Systa Solutions, and why I do this work.
In 2013, I became a stroke survivor. In one moment, everything I thought I knew about strength was turned upside down.
When something like that happens, it strips everything back. Titles do not matter. Achievements do not matter. Productivity does not matter. What matters is your ability to rebuild, your body, your confidence, your identity, and above all, your belief in yourself.
Recovery is not linear. It is frustrating. It is humbling. It forces you to slow down and confront fear, and to redefine who you are without the labels you once relied on.
There were moments of doubt, moments of exhaustion, moments where the strongest thing I could do was simply not give up.
The commitment to personal growth
After the stroke, I made a decision. I was not going to waste my second chance at life. I was going to live it intentionally, and on purpose.
I chose to commit deeply to my growth, not just professionally, but personally, and asked myself the hard questions.
What do I value?
What do I stand for?
What impact do I want to have?
What legacy do I want to leave?
Personal growth is not a one time decision. It is a daily practice. It is choosing reflection over reaction, courage over comfort, and purpose over ego. It is being willing to look at your own blind spots, unlearn the patterns that no longer serve you, and build habits that align with who you are becoming.
Building a stronger version of yourself was never about becoming someone else. It is about becoming more fully yourself.
Why I created Systa Solutions
In August 2023, I created my consulting business, Systa Solutions, built on a simple set of beliefs.
That businesses shape communities. That leadership shapes culture. That systems shape sustainability. And that people deserve to build something meaningful.
After everything I had experienced, legacy became important to me. Not legacy in terms of status or wealth, but legacy in terms of impact. What will still exist because I was here?
My vision for Systa Solutions is stronger businesses, aligned leaders, connected teams, and healthier workplaces.
01 Align operations with values
02 Build cultures that foster growth
03 Help teams communicate better
04 Implement systems that support people, not overwhelm them
Part of that legacy is a chapter I contributed to a book called Finding Yourself After Stroke, a world first collection featuring the stories of 26 young stroke survivors.
As a young stroke survivor myself, I know how lonely and isolating recovery can feel. This book brings together the moments before, during, and after stroke, the diagnosis, the rehabilitation, and how life looks different on the other side.
It speaks to the physical and invisible challenges of recovery, and to one theme that runs through every story. Your current circumstances do not determine your future, and your stroke does not define you.
